About the artist: Kathleen attended Mount St. Mary's Academy in Watchung and after graduating settled down in New Jersey to start a family. Five children and eleven years later, Kathleen and her family relocated to Clinton, Iowa for her husband's job. It was then that she decided to pursue more extensive art training at Mount St. Clare College.
On the move again in 1972 Kathleen moved to Crystal Lake Illinois. Determined to balance motherhood and her art, she enrolled at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she completed her degree in Advertising and Design. Soon after she was appointed the art director of a large Chicago event company, which was the stepping stone that led her to found "Savoir Faire Designs," a company that specializes in faux finishes, murals and painted furniture. Upon retiring she now paints watercolors that are printed into note cards and music boxes. In 2010 Kathleen started "Brushstrokes," a painting group in her community. Recently, Kathleen has been commissioned to create a large oil painting to celebrate the Purdue School of Nursing's 50th Anniversary.
Kathleen and her husband Jack, enjoy traveling and entertaining. They live in Barrington Illinois.
