April Halprin Wayland is the author of seven books, including the gold medal-winning New Year at the Pier (Dial books), her award-winning novel in poems, Girl Coming in for a Landing (Knopf), It’s Not My Turn To Look For Grandma, recommended on PBS’s “Storytime”, and her latest, More Than Enough – a Passover Story (Dial books).
Her audio of poetry and stories won the National Parenting Publications Gold Medal, her poems appear on the US Children’s Poet Laureate’s website, the Poetry Foundation website, and in more than 30 anthologies.
April has taught workshops in over 400 conferences and schools across the globe, is a co-founder of Authors and Illustrators for Children, a founding member of The Children’s Authors Network, and has been an instructor with UCLA Extension’s Writers’ Program for over 15 years.
