Cain Vineyard & Winery is cradled at the crest of the Mayacamas Range in the Spring Mountain District. Four guests will stand on this mountain and inhale the scented air and realize: this place is like no other -- and you can taste it in the wine.
Undoubtedly, the most compelling wines are born in the vineyard—and at Cain, which varies in elevation from 1,400 to 2,100 feet, the vineyards tell the story of this remarkable wine while they cling to the mountainsides, overlooking the Napa Valley and Saint Helena.
The Cain team is dedicated to the creation of three Cabernet blends, each drawn from its own unique vineyard sources, each with its own distinctive signature: Cain Cuvée, Cain Concept – The Benchland, and Cain Five.
Your visit will include a tour the vineyard with Chris Howell – Winemaker at Cain for 26 years, a sit down tasting of several vintages of Cain Five followed by lunch created for you by Katie Lazar, who, when not in other parts of the country representing Cain, can be found in the kitchen nurturing a levain created from the wine.
The success of Cain depends on the combination of an incredible site, an inspired vision, and patient, persevering, and tenacious stewardship.
