After 20 years of marketing Napa Valley and its wines, Karen Cakebread launched ZIATA Wines in 2008.

“I had two goals: to create beautifully structured wines that reflect the vineyards they come from; and to be involved in every aspect of the making of my wine.”

Karen named the brand in honor of her mother, Mary Annunziata.

Here for your enjoyment is a terrific collection of ZIATA wines—in Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir:

Of the Cabernet Franc, we say…
"Voluptuous! Dark fruit and violet aromatics, a mouthwatering richness, balanced acidity, and a concentrated core of cassis, dark cocoa, walnut, and tobacco…”

And the Pinot Noir?
“Lush aromatics highlighted by rose petals and cedar, a pretty nose of dark cherries, cola and allspice. A burst of wild red fruits in the mouth with spice and a little toasty oak. Good acidity and nice tannins.”

Item Special Note

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable in the date of sale. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell wine. Sales tax will be collected on the fair market value of each lot which contains tangible goods.

Shipping or Pick up of Wines: Shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Non-Napa County winners of auction lots containing wines will have their wines shipped from the Napa Valley Wine Warehouse storage facility in St. Helena, beginning Tuesday, March 1, 2016. If you're the lucky winner, we'll call you to get your credit card info and share more details.

Napa County winners of auction lots containing wine may pick up their wines at the St. Helena office of the UpValley Family Centers at 1440 Spring Street beginning Monday, February 29, 2016. If you are the lucky winner, we'll call you with details.
