Selected collections, Commissions, and Activities
Loren Ellis received her M.F.A. at Florida State U. and received a grant from the Fine Arts Council of Florida the year she graduated. Loren has received many grants and awards for her work, and has exhibited internationally. Her works are in many private and corporate collections, and have been commissioned by also, including The Museum of Modern Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Kodak, The New York Public Library, Johnson & Johnson, The Florida State Capitol, The New York Historical Society, The Brooklyn Museum, The New York Yankees, Tampa Electric Co. Environmental Defense Fund, 13 Muse Museum , Poland, Museum of History of Photography Krawkow, Poland, the Woodstock Center of Photography etc.
Loren has created a 25 minute video documentary about a Hungarian 100-year-old photographer/painter entitled ¿A Tiny Voice¿. You can see a trailer on her web site.
Loren was honored to be guest curator of the 10th anniversary of the Great Neck Art Center (exhibit funded by the NY Council for the arts) in 2005. Art for Healing NYC Org. supporters funded the catalogue for the exhibition.
