ARTIST BIO AND INSPIRATION
Lori LaMont is a self taught artist who works exclusively with watercolor. Her command of the medium is decidedly untraditional and her large-scale paintings are executed with layers of bold, saturated color and meticulously rendered detail. Her paintings have been commissioned for corporate collections and have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the permanent collection in the Long Beach Museum of Art, where she has just completed a three month exhibit, which included the prestigious post as their Artist-in-Resident. Lori has exhibited at the Anchorage Museum of Art, the Berkeley Arts Center, Period Gallery in Omaha, Stearns Studio 347 Gallery, and Frank Pictures Gallery in Santa Monica at Bergamot Station.
This painting belongs to the series, “ladies who Lunch”, which is a series of society portraits. They are modern, formal portraits, fashion oriented and large in scale.
