Leaders
Item Description
Jandel Allen-Davis, MD has been creating fiber art works since 1998. Having started her journey in 1989 through quilting, and the opportunity to explore the power of her own creativity to inform both healing and leadership has been a happy and accidental gift. In addition to art quilting, Dr. Allen-Davis creates fiber sculptures using multimedia (fiber, fabric, acrylics, embellishments, glass, and found objects in nature). She has recently begun collaborating with a local glass artist to explore how these two mediums can merge to create interesting textures and contours.
"Untitled" - This work speaks to the joy of simply responding to the surface the unvarnished mask provided, based on what the surface desired/demanded. It is joyful, full of "bling", and yet pretty elegant in its simplicity!
