David works across the AT&T Digital Experience team to lead efforts in creating an integrated customer experience across all of the company’s digital platforms. As more customers prefer to interact with AT&T online or from their mobile devices, David guides the development of AT&T’s digital experience, from social media to mobile-optimized sites and content.David returned to AT&T (via Cingular Wireless) in 2003 to lead IT Strategy, reporting to the CIO.  Here he led post-merger (with AT&T Wireless) IT Application Portfolio Rationalization, a strategic innovation and prototyping team, and the Human-Centered Design organization.  His role later grew to setting the technology direction for the enterprise, pre and post Cingular’s integration into AT&T.  David was then asked to build a new team within Marketing responsible for defining AT&T’s strategy for investment in, and development of, an integrated platform of cloud computing and common services that can be monetized through both AT&T and 3rd party partners.

David earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Hampden-Sydney College and a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University. He continues to serve on the Emory University Alumni Board and actively participates in business school’s mentor program.  He also recently completed a 12-week Transformational Leadership Program at Harvard University.  David serves on the North Georgia Water Planning District Advisory Council and the Board of Advisors of Content Science, a digital think tank located in Atlanta, GA.

David began his career with AT&T in 1990 as an intern in the Quality Management Office of Network Operations, then moving thru network engineering roles and on to AT&T Global Account Management.  After completing graduate school, David went on a six-year “sabbatical” from AT&T and worked for KPMG (later, BearingPoint), focusing on Customer Management Solutions, to include work for the U.S. Army Ready Reserve and the Marine Corps Materiel Command.

He is married with one child and enjoys fishing and playing golf. David and his family make their home in Alpharetta, Georgia
