Item 1104
Jericho Canyon Vineyard, Calistoga
Signed Magnum & 750ml Cabernet Sauvignon & More
Value: $690
Magnum 2014 Great Sage Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 750ml bottle 2006 Jericho Canyon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley. Both are signed by winemaker, Nicholas Bleecher.
Jericho Canyon’s steeply terraced vineyard is spectacular, the extreme. Since 1989, the Bleecher family has sustainably farmed grapes for their terroir driven, small production, estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Their wine is made in the Bordeaux style. Hand-crafted in small lots, the juice is blended to create a full-bodied, complex wine with well-balanced tannins.
Their approach to green growing is multi-pronged, employing tools like no-till farming, insectaries, bird boxes, and erosion control. No-till farming reduces wind and water erosion while providing crucial habitat for beneficial insects. Insectaries also provide habitat for beneficial insects which keeps Jericho Canyon insecticide free. Within the vineyard, owl boxes attract nesting owls who provide rodent control, and bluebird boxes invite bug-eating birds to call the canyon home.
In their winery, the Bleechers have installed water saving devices, energy saving light fixtures, and skylights. Perhaps most importantly, they age their wines in a naturally climate controlled cave, meaning no need for air conditioning.
Included is a private ATV Polaris Tour and tasting for up to five people. Your visit includes a vineyard and cave tour as well as seated tasting of estate produced wines. Valid until October 23, 2017.
