Wendy Thompson, of Westport Educational Consulting, sees applications as an admission officer would. She spent twelve years on the admissions staff of Bowdoin College (2000-2012) and has served as director of admissions for several secondary boarding schools. Her knowledge of selective college admissions is rare among college advisors. Students get an insider’s edge by working with Wendy in the college search and selection process.
Wendy works in person, by email, and by Skype, so geography is not an issue. Students receive the same personalized service, tailored to their schedule. Services can include:
· Working with families early in the student’s high school career to plan a challenging, interesting, and enjoyable high school experience.
· Developing a customized list of colleges tailored to the student’s academic profile, extracurricular interests, possible majors, personality, and career goals
· Reviewing, evaluating, and giving feedback on college application essays and entries in the extracurricular activity section of the Common Application.
· Planning and coordinating college visits.
· Coaching and preparing students for college interviews.
· Helping students choose the best college fit once acceptances are known.
