Our mission is to provide children and families the opportunity to explore, discover and learn through play about the natural world, the arts and sciences and the diversity of Maine’s mid-coast.
The Coastal Children’s Museum, formerly known as The Midcoast Children’s Museum, began 1985. The original museum closed after two years, but continued as a museum without walls until 2009, when we opened at our current location. Bringing exciting programs to schools and community venues we have been offering children and families in Knox, Lincoln and Waldo counties education and entertainment for over 20 years. Though we continue to offer our outreach programs, we are now thrilled to have a home at 75 Mechanic Street in Rockland, Maine.
Each pass grants admission for one person for the day. The pass is good for the entire day so the recipient can play, go get something to eat and then come back and play some more! To help plan a trip to the museum, check out our calendar on our website or our events on Facebook.
