Item Description

Four bottles of red wine

J Opi Malbec 2017 $13.99
Opi Sadler’s peers call him ‘The Magician’ thanks to his wizard-like touch with Malbec. His signature Malbec announced him to the world (with great fanfare) after it won a big Decanter trophy a few years back – judges hailed it as “mouthfilling, complex, and an amazing value.”
Here’s the next (delicious) chapter, which is made with grapes lovingly hand harvested from one of Opi’s favorite vineyards in Mendoza’s premium Maipú district, then treated to brief oak aging for extra complexity. Like its award-winning predecessors, the smooth 2017 release delivers trademark smoky, black-fruit flavor – this is the red to enjoy with a big steak.

The Black Stump Durif Shiraz 2017 $15.99
Down Under, ‘beyond the black stump’ means you’re really off the beaten path. But remote origins haven’t stopped this Black Stump – it’s racked up acclaim at the most prestigious competitions in the world, including Mundus Vini, the AWC Vienna Wine Challengeand more. We’re confident the just-launched 2017 will carry on the tradition.
All medals and international awards aside, you really know a wine is special when customers call the winery when they run out of it, hoping for more. That’s the kind of devotion The Black Stump inspires. Star winemaker Alan Kennett is one of an elite group to win the Jimmy Watson Trophy (Australia’s premier wine prize).
When you blend Durif with Shiraz “magical things happen.” Durif brings power, structure and chocolaty, blueberry flavors. Shiraz adds more oomph and spicy bramble notes.

HJ Fabre Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2015 $19.99
Judges at the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards awarded it a 95-point, ‘Best in Show’ platinum trophy and jotted down this mouthwatering tasting note: “There’s real intensity on the nose, which delivers spicy blackberry and bell pepper aromas. Palate is suave and dense with admirable underlying acidity and bags of dark chocolate, cassis and pepper flavours. Full and rounded finish.”
These grapes, from 30-plus-year-old vines, are picked by hand and placed into small trays so they arrive at the winery in pristine condition. Just over half of the wine is aged in fine French barrels to give the perfect balance of fruit and fragrant oak character.

Shroud Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 $16.99
Previous releases have wowed at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (the largest competition of American wines in the world). The 2015 was awarded 90 points from The Tasting Panel Magazine:
“Smooth, vanilla nose; lush and juicy with bright blackberry fruit – and a more-than-fair price.”
It’s made with prime Cab grapes from across California’s best coastal growing regions and gently oaked, making for a brooding, ripe-fruited example of this stellar year. (California, by the way, has been on a hot streak of amazing vintages – critics and winemakers alike have raved about 2012, 2013, 2014, and now 2015. It really is a Golden Age for American wine lovers!)
