Charlie Haden playing bass with the Minutemen. John Hiatt’s first L.A. gig opening for John Lee Hooker. Springsteen sitting in with John Wesley Harding one night and Nils Lofgren another. Bill Monroe. Meat Puppets. Townes Van Zandt. Los Lobos. Emmylou Harris."
