Why should our kids be the only ones to get supportive assessments? Couldn’t we all use a little extra motivation, a little coaching, a little constructive criticism? We at the auction committee propose to bring a little Shani spirit into your life. So we propose these adult Shani marks, because, really, if you have something to say, why not say it with white burgundy?
Question Mark 2017 Cuvée Delaye Saint-Véran “Les Pierres Grises.” This is the wine you drink when you need to up your game. We wouldn’t go straight to “fail,” but there is a lot here that makes no sense at all. As the name of the wine puts it, “grey stones.” Maybe your kid no longer says “wow!” to mean “incredibly awesome!” but rather to mean “incomprehensibly annoying.” Maybe you just don’t understand Google classroom. At any rate, Shani has questions. We suggest you regroup by inviting a friend over for this easy-drinking white. Chat, have some almonds, maybe an apricot. Troubleshoot. We are a community, and this is a great wine for community.
Check Minus - Robert Goulley Bourgogne Chardonnay. The official Shani rubric reads “This assignment does not answer the question(s). It lacks details, or your writing is unclear. There are several spelling, capitalization, and punctuation mistakes.” So, yeah. It’s not ideal. Get a little food and open a bottle of this while you take stock. It’s a wine for continuous improvement.
Check - 2017 Thevenet et Fils Saint-Véran Clos De L’Ermitage Vieilles Vignes. “A wild patience,” Adrienne Rich wrote, “has taken me thus far.” This wine is about the poetry of daily accomplishment. Hang in there.
Check Plus 2017 - Guillemard-Clerc Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay “Les Parties.” Shani is smiling, because you are crushing it. Maybe you are the one who was recently given a Fulbright. Maybe you have figured out a way to help MCS expand its purpose. Or maybe somebody has just offered an unexpected compliment on your parenting (your kid is kind!). This wine is for celebrations.
