In 1815, The McClure family travels down the Ohio River in a flatboat loaded with all their worldly possessions. The family must navigate the dangers of the river while the children listen for the roar of rapids, a sign they are nearing their destination, the frontier village of Jeffersonville, Indiana. After arriving, the McClure family must turn their flatboat into a new home in order to have shelter!
Scott Russell Sanders is a local Bloomington, IN novelist and essayist. He is the author of more than 20 works of fiction and nonfiction.
