Note from the Artist: Fenced No. 1 is part of my investigation of the chain-link fence as a motif and symbol of dislocation, migration and borders. The mechanical and life-less fence is imbued with color, movement and life thought painted gestures in order to subvert its original significance as a tool for entrapment.

Bio: Francisco Donoso is a transnational artist born in Quito, Ecuador who migrated to Miami, FL at the age of five. He currently resides in New York City and has a Bronx-based studio practice.
