Item Description
Glass Fusion Fish Mounted on Black Frame by Artist Melissa Neiers
A note from the Artist... My name is Melissa Neiers, from Pocatello, Idaho. I'm a glass artist that switched from stained glass to fused glass, because of arthritic hands. The process means the glass is cut, designed and melted in a kiln. I'm retired and now share my love of this craft with all sorts of people through classes at the Idaho Museum of Natural History at Idaho State University.
This piece that I have donated to "Casting for Recovery" was made with special illuminating glass called "dichroic". It's very shiny and expensive and it stands out among regular fused glass and really adds beauty. This piece is given with pride to honor your group and I wish you every success in helping fight the effects of Breast Cancer through healing retreats.
