Access Contemporary Music (ACM) is dedicated to integrating musical creativity into everyday life by presenting the music of living composers at the highest quality, fostering musical creativity in our storefront music schools and through commissions, and partnering with composers, festivals, universities and ensembles in cities throughout the world to build a global contemporary music network.
Classical music has never been more global and inclusive than it is now and ACM believes strongly in bringing this music to new audiences, presenting classical music as a diverse, living art form and creating opportunities for everyone to share in the creative process.
ACM began in 2004 when composer, radio host, and new music advocate Seth Boustead had the idea to assemble a group of musicians every week to read through, record and post music by living composers. That project, Weekly Readings, would go on to get national press and put ACM on the map.
We dream of a world in which everyone enjoys unlimited access to contemporary classical music and appreciates what is happening today in music. We hope to update the popular definition of classical music and bring contemporary classical music to every man, woman, and child on earth.
To be a living tradition and to break through barriers. To create masterpieces as well as foster the first creative steps. To discuss and not fear the new. To be inspired and to inspire others.
