Item Description
A map of Henry David Thoreau's world. This historically-accurate bird's-eye-view of Concord, Mass. circa 1845 is based on the popular 19th-century panoramic city views of that era (no such view having been produced of Concord). The 20 x 30 inch poster is on heavy stock and is printed to replicate the authentic style and look of a lithographic map. The artist and the Thoreau Society won two national art awards for this work upon its publication in 2006. A "fact sheet" accompanies the print and details the historic specifics within the map. In addition, the 2007 issue of the Concord Saunterer featured a 60-page essay by artist John Roman on his process and his inspiration for "Mapping Thoreau's World."
Item Special Note
Shipping and handling will be completed free, by the artist. Signing the poster is also an option.
