Brewed Awakenings, founded in 1996, are locally-owned coffee shops in Rhode Island. They have 3 locations currently; one in Johnston, another in Cranston, and “The Largest Coffee Shop in The United States” in Warwick. In the 1920's, Augusto Brigido, a Portuguese immigrant, began working in a small neighborhood market in Northern Rhode Island. By 1943, he was able to own and operate his first grocery market located on Beverage Hill Avenue, in Pawtucket. Brigido's was a simple place - dedicated to quality- great cuts of meat and fresh produce from the farm. Most importantly, Brigido's was always about superior customer service.
