Item Description
Boston Red Sox framed 16x20 picture of "The Steal" autographed by Dave Roberts - with certificate of authenticity.
In the American League Championship Series of 2004, the Red Sox wee down 3-0 in games in a best of 7 game series against the New York Yankees. They were behind 4-3 in the ninth inning of game 4. Kevin Millar reached first base, and the Sox sent in Dave Roberts to pinch run. Everyone in the ball park knew he was going to try to steal 2nd base. He did and was safe - "The Steal"
Bill Mueller singled him in to tie the game 4-4. David Ortiz hit a two run homer in the 12th to win. Red Sox still down 3-1 in the series. The Red Sox won the next three games to win the ALCS, the only time a team came back to win after being down 3 games to none.
They then won four straight in the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals for their first World Series win since 1918!
