Item Description
1982 Ch. Lafite: Deep in color with aromas of sweet red berries and blackcurrants mingled with notions of cedar chest, cigar box, camphor and dried flowers, it is medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, with an effortlessly elegant, harmonious profile and a long, fragrant finish.
1982 Ch. Margaux: Super ripe cherry nose; cherry cassis palate that thins out mid-palate, with green notes. Short-medium finish.
1982 Ch. Mouton Rothschild: Aromas of cassis, dark berry fruit, charcoal, pencil shavings, espresso roast and loamy soil. Full-bodied, ample and enveloping, it's a layered, sumptuous wine that's remarkably seamless and complete, with impressive concentration, ripe but lively acids and fine, melting tannins.
1982 Ch. Leoville Las Cases: Thrilling notes of blackcurrants, kirsch, tobacco leaf, cedar box, menthol, and exotic spices all emerge from this seamless, powerful yet magically elegant Leoville Las Cases.
1982 Ch. Ducru-Beaucaillou: Aromas of cigar wrapper, gentle smokiness and a deftly turned base of smoky new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with stellar focus and balance, still a touch of ripe tannin perking up the backend and a very, very long, refined and complex finish.
1982 Ch. Certain de May: Complex bouquet of black plums, black cherries, bitter chocolate, cigar ash, a superb base of soil, black tea, woodsmoke and a nice touch of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and suave on the attack, with a fine core of fruit, great focus and detail, still a bit of ripe, backend tannin and a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish.
