Item Description
"Cetus Flora" by Stephanie Verdun
Medium: Acrylic paint and pen
Size: 54" x 12"
Artist Statement:
I wanted to approach painting the Whale as if it were a large piece of pottery, using a similar technique I use when painting my ceramics: a combination of brush strokes and detail line applied with a squeeze bottle. The imagery includes costal and floral motifs and some “hidden” imagery (crab, fish, lobster…. And of course a “K”)
Artist Biography:
Stephanie's artwork and designs can be found on a variety of surfaces, including her line of ceramics, scarves, tissue paper, and sandwich wrap. She especially enjoys creating branding and identity for small businesses. Commissioned works are welcomed. She is often found at her local town studio, where she teaches classes and workshops to children and adults.
