Virginia Mahoney holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, MI and a BA from the University of FL. Mahoney was a Bromfield Gallery Solo 2022 Competition winner and shows both regionally and nationally. She has been published in Artscope Magazine and online magazines Hyperallergic, Boston Voyager and WBURArtery. Her work is in private collections and the Lancaster Art Museum, PA. A Core Member of Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, she makes work at her home studio in Brockton, MA. A maker of lists, Mahoney made one about the Attleboro Arts Museum's history and its significance to the community.
"The 100 words (some phrases)" are handwritten inside the blue form in gold, and outside in white. Spirals extending past the bottom and blank strips refer to the future: room for many more words that others might use to describe their experience in the AAM. White on blue echoes the museum's signage. Gold is the treasure that the Attleboro Arts Museum has been and will continue to be.
