Item Description

Valerya Couto is a self-taught artist who studied graphics and multimedia at the NE Institute of Technology. She has been painting traditionally for the past 6 years, as well as digitally for over 10 years, and has recently had her work exhibited at the AAM. She currently resides in Attleboro, MA with her husband and two children.
"Azorean Sea" is an homage to a place that Valerya's in-laws call home, the Azores. For years they have recounted stories and vivid descriptions of the Azores beauty and serenity. From the pristine blue waters to the flowers springing up everywhere, with winding paths up the mountainside. It's a place the artist hopes to visit and experience for herself very soon.
