Lisa Granata holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a years study in Florence in Studio Arts College International. Lisa is an adjunct professor at Lasell University, School of Continuing Studies at Dean College, and she instructs studio art classes for all ages at the AAM. Her art exhibition record includes galleries and museums on the east coast, mid-west, and Italy. Lisa finds inspiration for her work from a variety of influences such as literature, language, mythology, current events, historical and contemporary artworks, and through her travels. She is attracted to the symbolic and metaphoric nature of Renaissance art.

In the work "Goddess", Lisa was exploring the idea of Athena the ancient Greek Goddess associated with wisdom, warfare, and handicraft. This artwork is a dry point etching, a type of intaglio print and made a unique varied edition using Akua inks on paper.
