Linda Byrne has always enjoyed creating and exploring art using a variety of mediums, most recently, Gelli Plate printmaking. A recently retired nurse, she looks forward to spending more time developing her craft.
The words of French-Cuban-American novelist Anais Nin were the inspiration for this piece. Byrne had completed several renderings before deciding on utilizing the Gelli plate printmaking process. She used acrylic paint on watercolor paper, a bit of deli paper, stencils and bubble wrap to pull paint, and woven cotton ribbon as an embellishment.
