Item Description
Oil
6" x 6" x 1.5"
An active member and trustee at the AAM, Christina Beecher holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art. She is honored to hang her work at the Next Door Gallery in Mansfield and True Grit Gallery in Middleboro. Beecher also participates in many other local exhibitions and is an energetic artist and board member at Galatea Fine Art, a collaborative gallery in Boston. Christina enjoys introducing new artists to the AAM, a beautiful gem in Attleboros downtown area.
"Maple Reds" is an intimate landscape dominated by the red hues of autumn. This work is in the style Beecher favors, reminiscent of the tonalism movement that began in the 1880s. This small oil painting is dark, but contains rich in colors. The cool sky frames the warm colors of the large maple tree punctuated with a brighter burst of blue to create a focal point while a small path leads the viewer towards the horizon.
