Item Description
Oil
16" x 20" x 1.5"
An artist from RI, Ronna A. Pate is an oil painter who has studied drawing and painting. She believes creating art is a transcendent experience and has found great satisfaction when painting subjects that have special meaning to her. Ronna's focus on Western-themed art is inspired by and pays homage to her grandfather, a cowboy in his younger days. His stories made her fall in love with all things Western, so she's fascinated by the trappings associated with cowboy living and working.
"Montana Mountains: Haven" depicts a safe haven for a few head of cattle. From the worn down path on the right, we can tell they've moseyed to this idyllic setting many times. No doubt, the cattle feel safe & protected. This painting and others were inspired by the artist's grandfather who was a cowboy in his younger days and a very special person in her life. The stories he told and his spirit live on in Pate's paintings.
