Item Description

Oil

16" x 16" x 2"

Karen Reid holds a diploma in fine art from the School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. She has studied at The Art Institute of Boston and the Danforth Museum in Framingham, MA. She has recently exhibited her work at the AAM, the Krikorian Gallery in Worcester, Arts Worcester and Mechanics Hall. Karen teaches classes to art students, teen to adult, in oil painting and watercolor. She currently works out of her studio in Oxford, MA.

"Rash" was painted when Reid was a visiting artist for the day in a gallery. It started out with a color palette and then her intuition takes over. She started to play with warm and cool colors, layering and building transparency with cold wax and oil until she found resolution and satisfaction with the end result.

The artist has graciously agreed to start the bidding at $250.
