Item Description
Collage
20.5" x 16.25" x 1"
Marnie Jain is a Boston-based artist who works primarily in the medium of collage. Using magazine cuttings of color as her paint she creates images and scenes of her own imagining. She exhibited her work in the Community Gallery at the AAM during the month of Sept 2022. She also had a solo exhibit at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library last year.
At first glance "The Gathering" appears to be abstract. On closer observation, you begin to see some bees, a spider, and many moths camouflaged against the ambiguous setting. This is a gathering of small beings, all with a part to play in this collaged environment.
