Kerry St. Pierre is a graduate of Mass College of Art & Design where she received training in sculpture, painting and drawing. Immersed in art since she was a child, it was her mother's soft sculpture dolls and her love of Jim Henson's creatures that inspired her current creations. Kerry's one-of-a-kind hand sculpted works allow her to use her imagination to its fullest.
"Violet the Witch" is a part of Kerry's Cottage Witch series. Cottage witches, also known as Scandinavian kitchen witches, are homemade dolls resembling a stereotypical witch or cron. They are meant to be displayed year-round in residential kitchens as a good luck charm and to ward off bad spirits.
