Item Description

Wire, twine and acrylic.

Figure and Bench: 9" x 9" x 3", Ducks: 3" x 2" x 3"

Lot 603 was selected from a installation entitled Wire Wonderland/The Art of Collaboration: A Community of Artists Enliven Our Landscape. The art was funded by a United Way of Greater Attleboro/Taunton Community Impact Grant and was inspired by former Mayor Kevin J. Dumas. Wire Wonderland was on view in Attleboro's City Hall in 2007 and recently retired.

Through a comprehensive series of hands-on visual art workshops, Attleboro teens conceptualized and built 3-dimensional, figurative art forms for this unique installation. These young artists from The Attleboro YMCA and teens/families served by The Arc of Northern Bristol County met on a weekly basis at the AAM with artist-in-residence, Robin Galligan, and Programs Coordinator, Abby Rovaldi.

This selection from the installation represents a mayor (top hat and all) sitting on a bench, feeding ducks in a park.
