Monoprint using collagraph impressions of vegetation , counter and ghost
prints on Japanese unryu
17” x 11” narrow white frame ready to hang
Blue Moon is a unique print using a collagraph of raised vegetation, counter and ghost prints on light weight Japanese unryu - dragon tail paper. It is from a series responding to the natural world in this time of climate crisis anxiety. Larger images of the series were shown in Tokyo, Japan, spring of 2023. Florence Alfano McEwin has displayed works of this evolving series of both prints and paintings nationally and internationally. She lives and works in Wyoming.

About the Artist
Wyoming Artist, Florence Alfano McEwin, works in both paint and print mediums. Her work is shown nationally and internationally. International shows include those in Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, England, Scotland, the Netherlands and France. Her numerous awards include the George and Helen Segal Foundation Award in paint and two Wyoming state fellowships for printmaking. Last Spring, she was honored with a show in Gallery Kaze,Tokyo. Fall of 2023 her works are currently being displayed in multiple galleries throughout Colorado. McEwin, who earned a Ph.D. on American Women Artists (NTU, Denton) is Professor Emeritus of Art from Western Wyoming College.
