Item Description

Discover, Bike, Sample and Savor in Burgundy, France (Europe) for Seven Days & Six Nights in a Four-Bedroom 17th-Century Residence for Six, Including a Half-Day Private Bike Tour of Beaune and a Private Dinner Prepared by a Chef (Land Only)

Famed the world over for its exceptional wines, Burgundy (Bourgogne in French) is also known as a place of artistic and historical interest, with a fascinating Romanesque heritage - it's a region where history and gastronomy unite, where Renaissance châteaux and medieval castles stand tall amongst the vineyards that blanket the countryside. Delight in the UNESCO Heritage glory of Burgundy during your stay in a beautifully restored stone residence that dates back to the 17th century, and head into the countryside for a private bike ride in Beaune, which includes an incredible wine tasting! A private dinner prepared by a chef in your residence is the best way to top off this spectacular trip to Burgundy!

You'll find authenticity and comfort in your renovated four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence. Surround yourself with rustic elegance, modern luxury and sleek design throughout the house. Just a few minutes walk from the center of Beaune, the quiet location is ideal for discovering Burgundy, as well as relaxing after a long day with a glass of wine. Head into the countryside surrounding Beaune on two wheels for an easygoing private bike tour through these world renowned vineyards, together with a private guide. Beaune is one of the best preserved medieval cities in the region, and is surrounded by ramparts and features a labyrinth of wine cellar caves. What was once a Gallic sanctuary and then a Roman town, is now a mecca for wine lovers. Discover the magic of Burgundian wine, stopping to visit a winery, meet the winemaker and taste a selection of five different wines from the area. Then savor the quality of a top Burgundian restaurant's cuisine in the comfort of your residence when a private chef comes to prepare an exquisite dinner, replete with a full menu of local gourmet specialties.

Small but mighty, Burgundy is France's most mythical wine region. Set in the heart of Burgundy's famous vineyards, it brings a twinkle to the eyes of wine lovers. Its wines command the world's highest prices and elicit the most impressive forgeries (as you'll know if you saw Rudy Kurniawan's astonishing con revealed in Netflix's 2016 smash documentary Sour Grapes). It's where the storied, secretive bacchanalian brotherhood Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin meet. And it's where monks shaped the future of French winemaking in the walled-in Clos de Vougeot in the 12th century as a flagship vineyard for monastic production; they were among the first to identify the importance of terroir (how soil, microclimate, and geography affect a wine's taste). The region's best known for its reds, made from pinot noir, which can age for decades, while its finest whites are complex and buttery single-varietal wines made from chardonnay. All of Burgundy's vineyards are classified Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC), which is unique in France! Spend some time in this quiet town during your half-day bike tour, passing mosaic-roofed châteaux, admiring honey-hued stone houses on strolls along peaceful streets, and tasting wines in hushed, ancient cellars. During your stay, be sure to indulge in a gourmet meal in a Michelin starred restaurant. Try out some of the local specialties such as Charolais beef, snails, Bresse chicken or the famous Dijon mustard.

Your trip for six people includes:
7 days/6 nights accommodations at a 4-bedroom 17th century residence
Half-day private bike tour of Beaune, including one winery visit and tasting of 5 One private chef prepared dinner in the residence
Utilities, midweek and final cleaning
