Item Special Note

I graduated in May 2012 from Marywood University with a Master of Fine Arts in painting degree. The vast experience of being a teaching assistant, art program coordinator and private art tutor provided me with a solid foundation. I contain attributes that would enable me to be an effective teacher from my well-rounded background of art therapy and psychology. In addition, I am well versed in other categories of art, such as ceramics, sculpture, drawing, as well as various painting mediums.
Due to my unique background, I can go beyond painting and drawing techniques by assisting students in discovering what their work is about and probable meanings. Also, I have studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a total of eight months where I had the opportunity to take rare courses such as fresco painting and learn about the roots to the modern art world. While attending SACI (Studio Arts Centers International) I took a sum of three art history courses where most of class time was spent outside of a classroom and traveling around the country. This provided more hands-on experience resulting in a more valuable education. On my free time in Italy, I was so appreciative to be able to go to museums such as the Uffizi, Louvre, Musee Marmottan Monet, and hundreds of churches that were homes to paintings and breakthroughs in architecture. I would not be the artist or person I am today without seeing the work of the masters in person for influence or the guidance of the prestigious faculty. Through my experiences and art therapy background I feel that I have a solid foundation for being a faculty member of an art program.
