Item Description
This sterling silver pendant is a fine example of Luella Schroeder's ability to capture the delicate beauty of nature in her work. The piece is shaped into a charming flower, complete with five rounded petals that encircle a vibrant green stone at its center. Each petal is sculpted with a gentle concave form, giving the flower a lifelike dimension and an organic feel.
The pendant is crafted from high-quality sterling silver, as indicated by the "STERLING" stamp, which assures its purity and composition. The artist's initials "LCS" are discreetly stamped on the back, marking it as an authentic piece by Schroeder.
The incorporation of the green stone adds a touch of color that contrasts beautifully with the silver, drawing the eye to the heart of the flower. This pendant is not just an accessory; it is a piece of art that embodies the elegance and serenity of the natural world. It promises to be a versatile addition to any jewelry collection, perfect for adding a touch of grace to any outfit.
About the Artist:
Luella Schroeder (1918-2004) was a multifaceted artist whose rugged individualism led her from a career at Cranbrook Institute of Science to the serene landscapes of Vermont. Her journey began with a deep engagement in the natural sciences and art, which fused elegantly in her role creating dioramas and photographing collections at CIS. In 1958, Schroeder embraced her passion for silver jewelry making and moved to Vermont, drawn by its spirit of self-reliance and creativity. Here, she blossomed as a jeweler, her work gaining national acclaim, including a prestigious Lifetime Membership from the Vermont Handcrafters for her dedication to Vermont crafts. Her creations, celebrated for their ingenuity and connection to nature, reflect the essence of Vermont's last stand of rugged individualists.
