Holly, The Christmas Seal Doll is an inspired re-creation of the charming young girl captured in the 1935 Christmas Seal. The American Lung Association launched the Christmas seal program in 1907 to save a Delaware hospital from closing its doors. The 1935 seal was one of the most inspiring.
Holly, illustrated by Ernest Hamlin Baker, portrays a charming young girl mailng a note to Santa. She captivates those around her with the memory of the love and excitement Santa generates throughout childhood.
The porcelain doll is finely sculptured and meticulously handpainted. She wears authentic costuming with her bright red wool coat lavishly trimmed with white "fur" and finely accented with shiny buttons. Holly's skirt is decorated with snowflake pattern in radiant gold and complemented by a lace-trimmed petticoat.
Holly stands about 18" tall. Comes in original packaging.
