Item Description

Enjoy a foursome at The Apawamis Club in Rye, NY!  A fabulous course that Ben Hogan once called "the toughest short golf course I have ever played."

The foursome includes access to the driving range, practice facilities (driving range and putting green), carts and/or caddies (you are responsible to tip the caddies).

The Apawamis Club

Two Club Road, Rye, NY 10580

Golf Course:

Course yardage is 6,741, with a rating of 73.4 and a slope of 146. Golf facilities include a practice putting green and a driving range. Apawamis plays over typically rugged Westchester terrain and demands accuracy off the tee. However, the challenge lies in the small greens, which are fast and slick, demanding defensive approach shots to specific target areas below the cup. Ben Hogan once called Apawamis "the toughest short golf course I have ever played."

The golf course took shape in 1899, which was stewarded through design by the then Chairman of the Golf Committee, Maturin Ballou, who astutely enlisted the assistance of a young Scottish professional named Willie Dunn, Jr. Mr. Dunn had traveled to the U.S. to build what is the now fabled links at Shinnecock. Changes have been made to the Apawamis golf course since its original design throughout the years by famed architects Herbert Strong (1906-1911), Donald Ross (1930), George and Tom Fazio (1977), Gil Hanse (2001-2002), Tom Marzolf (2014) and Keith Foster (2017-2022).
