About Bryan Head
Bryan Head is an abstract artist based in Katy, Texas, known for his innovative use of various media, including acrylic, oil, marker, and photography. Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in January 1975, Bryan spent most of his formative years in Odessa, Texas, where he developed a keen interest in art and design.
Bryan's love for art began at a young age when he saw the Price Tower in Bartlesville, designed by architect Franklin Lloyd Wright. The building's unique design sparked his interest in design elements, color, and subject matter, which led to his fascination with photography. He began exploring the world of painting after the passing of his mother from cancer in 2001, which became an emotional outlet for him to channel his grief and express his emotions.
Bryan's interest in painting blossomed during his visits to the Ector County Library, where he was able to check out paintings as if they were library books. He attended Arizona State University and later Texas Tech University.
Before pursuing art full-time, Bryan spent 27 years in residential property management. He is currently participating in the John Ross Palmer Escapist Mentorship program, which aims to destroy the stereotype of the struggling artist. The program, founded in 2009, offers a unique opportunity for artists to learn from one another and develop their skills.
Bryan's art is deeply rooted in his emotions, and he strives to transfer those emotions to his canvases through the use of texture, brush strokes, and color. His abstract pieces are a visual representation of his innermost feelings and experiences. Bryan's dedication to his craft and his commitment to his emotional expression through art make him an artist to watch in the contemporary art world
