Mooncakes are a traditional food eaten during the Mid Autumn Festival. It is said that paper messages to
rebel groups against the Mongols were passed around within mooncakes. (1279 – 1368) In this one-off
series of plates, Kwan reimagines the message in response to the anti Asian hate that was magnified
during (2020 - 2024)

Les gâteaux de lune sont des pâtisseries traditionnelles de la Fête de la mi-automne. On raconte que des messages en papier auraient été circulés grâce aux gâteaux de lune pour inciter la rébellion contre les Mongols (1279-1368). Dans cette série unique, Kwan réinvente le message en réaction à la vague de haine anti-asiatique, intensifiée en (2020-2024).

memory-making in the diaspora.
