“a wolf in blue” is a collection of cyanotype animation frames selected and reprinted from “ONEIROS” a mixed media journey of melancholic fear and the blurred lines between reality, dreams, and nightmares. Nykilchyk’s short films have screened in the UK, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Gatineau, and Ottawa.
L’œuvre a wolf in blue (un loup bleu) est une collection de cyanotypes tirés de l’animation ONEIROS, un récit créé à partir de techniques mixtes évoquant une peur mélancolique et les contours flous entre la réalité, le rêve et le cauchemar. Les courts métrages de Nykilchyk ont été diffusés au Royaume-Uni, à Vancouver, à Winnipeg, à Toronto, à Gatineau et à Ottawa.
Item Special Note
Tyler Nykilchyk is a queer, neurodivergent, interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker, combining traditional craft practices with alternative processes and technology, his work explores themes of identity, environment, memory, and sustainability. As a graduate of SPAO they have exhibited at Wall Space Gallery, Roseberry Road Studios (UK), and CONTACT Photography Festival (Toronto).
Artiste et cinéaste queer, neuroatypique et multidisciplinaire, Tyler Nykilchyk combine des matériaux traditionnels à des processus et technologies alternatives. Son art explore les thèmes de l’identité, de l’environnement, de la mémoire et du développement durable. Titulaire d’un diplôme de la SPAO, l’artiste a vu ses œuvres exposées à la Wall Space Gallery, au Roseberry Road Studios (Royaume-Uni) et au festival de photographie CONTACT (Toronto).
