To abstract from reality is to create life in the artificial. Increasingly, in our culture, nature has become an abstract concept. We have become divorced from direct contact with the natural. What does it mean that we cover our walls, our clothes, and our personal environment with representations of nature? The Artificial Botanical was designed to create life in the artificial.
