Item Description
This wall-hanging made from natural objects found on the beaches of Martha's Vineyard was made in 2023. It depicts 8 whimsical flowers and 2 half-flowers made from sea glass (white, brown, green, light blue, and yellow) with yellow and gold centers made of round beach pebbles. All are smooth and rounded by the ocean. The leaves are made of smooth pieces of shells and the grass is green sea glass. The stems are made of green garden twine. They are glued onto a frame made of old sand fence boards glued together and painted black so that the petals would show up better. It has a coating of polyurethane for the same reason. There is a beveled frame of its natural gray color also made of sand fence boards. The piece is 10 1/4 inches high and 7 1/2 inches wide. The frame is 1/4 inch wide on the front and approximately 1/2 inch wide on the sides. There is a metal saw-tooth hanger on the back for easy hanging.
