Rita’s journey to the U.S. is filled with fascinating twists of fate—had it not been for her grandfather’s disdain for America and her mother’s determination to stay in Sicily, she might have been born here instead of in Italy. Now, she’s sharing her love for traditional Italian cuisine with you.
This isn’t just a meal; it’s a culinary journey to Sicily that reflects the flavors and traditions of Rita’s homeland. The dinner will begin with a delightful appetizer of olives, Italian cheeses, and salamis, setting the stage for a night of indulgence.
The star of the evening is the from-scratch linguini with Bolognese sauce, a rich, slow-cooked red sauce brimming with savory meat, accompanied by Italian sausage, a fresh Fennel and orange salad, roasted peppers, and bread. This meal is perfectly paired with Nero D'Avola wine, a robust Sicilian red that complements the hearty flavors of the dinner.
To finish, enjoy a decadent tiramisu paired with a strong, aromatic espresso, a classic Italian dessert duo that will leave your taste buds delighted.
