Item Description

Two tickets to a tour of the historic Carnton and two tickets to a tour of Carter House, both located in Franklin, Tennessee.  Also, two tickets to Rippavilla, which is fourteen miles south, in Spring Hill.  Each ticket is good for a one hour guided tour inside the historic home and self guided grounds time.

The Carter House was built around 1830 by Fountain Branch Carter. By the time of the Civil War it was a large agricultural operation. In the years leading up to the Civil War nearly thirty slaves lived and worked on the farm.

Carnton became the largest field hospital in the area following the terrible battle, and in 1866 the McGavock Confederate Cemetery was established nearby.

Rippavilla Plantation, also known as Meadowbrook and Nathaniel Cheairs House, is a former plantation, historic house and museum, located in Spring Hill, Tennessee.  It is open to visitors as a historic house museum.

All are historic plantation houses and museums in Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The buildings played an important role during and immediately after the Battle of Franklin during the American Civil War. They are managed by the non-profit organization The Battle of Franklin Trust.

Item Special Note

Tours are scheduled upon arrival.  Both houses are open Monday through Saturday 9 am until 5 pm and Sunday 11 am until 5 pm.  The last tour of the day begins at 4 pm. Not valid for events and special tours.
