Item Description

Turned Wood

12" x 7" x 7"

The Attleboro Arts Museum is auctioning off a "mystery artwork" donated by a highly acclaimed, award-winning artist. This mystery piece will be revealed when the gavel falls during Saturday, November 2nd's live auction and the lot is awarded to the highest bidder.

This lot is a wonderful example of the artist's skill, mastery of material and celebration of nature's beauty. The only details that can be shared at this time are:

• Medium: Turned wood

• Size: 12" high x 7" wide x 7" deep

• Color palette of artwork: Warm wood tones

• Subject: A functional sculpture that will delight any collector's home or office - particularly those who enjoy venturing into the woodlands (hint).

• The Artist: Our mystery artist started woodturning about twenty-five years ago and immediately fell in love with the medium. They became devoted to wood turning by creating items that range from classic to experimental. This artist is well respected for their technique, teaching skill, and commitment to fine woodworking. Their pieces have been exhibited at the Fuller Craft Museum, South Shore Art Center, the Arnold Arboretum, and several AAM shows including the fiercely juried "8 Visions."

Artist Value: $600

Opening Bid: $240
