Item Description

Photography

16" x 18" x 1 1/2"

Gail Rousseau began her journey into photography at the NE School of Photography, Boston, MA and continued on to the NH Institute of Arts, Manchester, NH and Nikon School at Regis College, Weston, MA. In 2009 she received a scholarship to study Digital Fine Art Printing with George DeWolfe at the Maine Media College in Rockport, ME. Printing and darkroom work was always her favorite part of the art of making a photograph. Rousseau's images have been shown at The Lincoln-Levy Gallery, Portsmouth, NH, The Brush Gallery, Lowell, MA, NH Institute of Art Juried Biennial Show, Barrett Art Center, Poughkeepsie, NY, and the AAM. Rousseau's garden has always provided her with a spectacular parade of buds and blossoms to photograph.

The "From My Garden" series began as an attempt to change how she photographed and presented images. Rousseau was searching for a new and different result which would give her more control over light and shadows. "Queen Anne's Lace" was recently on display in the AAM's Community Gallery from June-July 2024.
