Item Description

Photography

10" x 8" x .5"

Fred Wiegand is retired from the construction business and has always found photography to be a fun, challenging, and fulfilling hobby. He resides on his twenty-acre farm in Rehoboth, MA.

"Surprise Snowstorm" was taken in January of 1971 and shows a 1953 Dodge dual-wheel truck amongst twenty inches of snow, accompanied by a loyal companion. The truck was carefully repaired and installed with a plow made by the artist. This photo was taken to document the impressive amount of snow covering the artist's eight hundred-foot driveway. Little did he know, six years later, twice as much snow would fall in the blizzard of 1978.
