Item Description

Mixed media

10" x 8" x 1"

Ann-Marie Gillett is a mixed-media artist who uses an innovative hand-painted tape technique along with drawing, painting, and cyanotype printing to create images. Her work is inspired by the changes of nature she observes on her twelve-acre homestead. She exhibits and has won awards for her work in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and small museums throughout New England and New York.

"Memories of Florida" is a hand-painted tape collage of the tropical growth seen during a trip to that state during the winter. Each intricate shape is carefully cut using scissors and arranged on a boxed panel. It evokes the colors and vibrancy of the visit.
